Castiglioni's original Lampadina table lamp, designed in 1971, has become a modern classic. It's playful use of a bare light bulb subverts the common idea that a 'designed' lamp should be a complicated object with a fancy light shade and base. This table lamp, inspired by the Lampadina light features a powder coated bulb holder that's available in black, white, orange and red. Made from anodised aluminium, the base is shaped like a film reel and is small, making it easy to accommodate on any desk, side table or bedside table. The power cord wraps around inside the base for a sleek, cable free look and at less than a kilo it's lightweight and easy to manouevre around the house or office. At this price it's also suitable for children as a bedside lamp or as a homework aid when placed on a desk and they're sure to love it's minimalist, funky design and bright colour range.
