This replica designer Bertoia Bar Stool has been given extra height to make it suitable for use as a bar stool whilst still resembling that of Bertoia's original wire chair. This chrome Bertoia Bar Stool also manages to combine comfort with its chic modern look.

Artist, sculptor, jewellery maker and modern furniture designer Harry Bertoia designed the original chair, after which this bar stool is designed, in 1952. His experimentation with bending metal rods into practical art produced a revered, modern furniture collection of wire chairs.

This custom wire bar stool functions like a sculpture and is best suited to commercial use as it's height matches bar heights that are usually found in bars.

In Bertoia's own words, "If you look at these chairs, they are mainly made of air, like sculpture. Space passes right through them."
