Wire Bar Stool - Black

Artist, sculptor, jewellery maker and contemporary furniture designer Harry Bertoia designed the original bar stool in 1952. His experiment with bending metal rods into practical art produced a revered collection of seating, including the exquisite Bertoia Bar Stool.

This custom wire bar stool or kitchen stool functions like a sculpture in any environment. It's gridded form allows for a level of transparency whereby the user or viewer literally sees through the chair.

In Bertoia's own words, "If you look at these bar stools, they are mainly made of air, like sculpture. Space passes right through them."
