Originally designed in 1948, the La Chaise lounge chair is a triumph of functional design-meets style and elegance. The original concept came to the pair as an entrant into a competition that the Museum of Contemporary Art in New York was holding, called Organic Designs In Home Furnishings.

You can see the influence of organic shapes on this lounge chair in the gentle slope of the seat - this along with the hole in the back is reminiscent of a worn sea shell you'd find on the beach, it's contours slightly worn by the elements.

The La Chaise lounge Chair has a moulded fiberglass shell lends itself to a comfortable seat as it's curves are ergonomic in form, contouring itself to the shape of the human body.
