Master Makeover with Interiors Addict

We've been avid followers of Interiors Addict for a while now so we were so excited to work with Jen on her master bedroom makeover!

Our Avalon Bedsides were the starting point to match with the timber tones in the room, with its base being perfectly balanced by its marble top. Our Blake Armchair in boucle was next up, adding both texture through its upholstery and a touch of luxe through its gold frame, such a stunning piece!

The art prints from The Poster Club were a must to tie in the blush and lilac tones of the bedding with the lush greenery of the windowscape, bringing this dreamy space together.

We chat to Jen about her process of styling these pieces and the beginnings of how Interiors Addict came to be.

How would you describe your personal interior style?

Classic with pops of colour and generous gold accents!

What was the main goal when first starting Interiors Addict?

I started the blog 11 years ago as a hobby really; somewhere to keep all my interiors inspo. I'm not a designer, I've just always been really into making my home nice, even back when I rented and shared apartments. I'm a newspaper and magazine journalist and editor by background so I suppose it was quite natural for me to start approaching high profile people in the industry to interview and feature. To cut a long story short, the blog soon became way bigger than I ever imagined, so when I was made redundant from my last magazine job, I decided to give myself 6 months to try and make it into a business. That was 9.5 years ago and I still pinch myself that I've created my own dream job that includes writing and creating content, and interiors. These days we cover a lot of renovating content too.

So, tell us why you chose the products you did and how you styled them within your master bedroom?

Nice bedsides are actually really hard to find! Life Interiors has a seriously above average selection! I love that the Avalon Bedsides are made from solid, natural materials (timber and marble). The drawer is essential for keeping all that small stuff together and hidden, but because they're open underneath, they look visually lighter and because our room isn't that big for a master, I'm always mindful of that. The top is easy to wipe clean and being white, also brightens the look of the room.

Sadly, the reality of sharing the room with my husband is that a 'chairdrobe' is needed for all his clothes! And this is one good-looking chair! Once a week at least we can actually see it! I love the on trend boucle fabric, the timber arms tie in with other elements in the room and brass touches are a bit of signature for my home! Perfection! I would never have this chair in a room my kids were in a lot though. Too precious for their sticky fingers!

I'd been eyeing off many of The Poster Club prints on Instagram and was thrilled to see Life Interiors stocked them. I'm obsessed with pops of colour and the two I chose really worked with the Spring vibe I was going for in this room.

We love how you integrate your family into your feed! How do you go about balancing being a full-time mum & full-time blogger? Being a mum and running a business are so intertwined, I have stopped trying to separate them really. One of the best things about having my own business is the flexibility to spend more time with my boys (Sebastian, 7, and Charlie, 3). I really believe people relate to my Instagram because I'm pretty open and try to keep it real. My house isn't always perfect, my kids make mess, but I also want to show that you CAN have kids and have nice things too! The juggle has looked different over the years but these days I work a four-day week but love being able to do things like volunteer at the school canteen and spend one day a week with Charlie.
