One of the original Friends of Life and our longtime stylist extraordinaire, Tahnee Machuca, has been working on a very exciting hotel revamp and we are so excited to finally share it with you!
Featuring some of our much loved pieces, the style revamp of The Berry View is all about stunning mid-century vibes, warm colours, and, of course, the stunning view of the Berry NSW countryside.
We chat to Tahnee about her style inspiration when redesigning the original motel and reflect on her past 7 years working with us at Life...
What was the initial style concept/ vision when starting to redesign The Berry View?
The building itself provided the inspiration, reminiscent of a bygone era, the humble Mid-Century Drive-In Motel had a very distinct Architectural style, clean lines, large windows, muted curves, almost flat roofs and don't forget those poppy coloured doors. I could see how amazing it could be just by the framework we had to work with, we just needed to gut it and re-inject some personality with a new colour palette and style scheme.
What is your favourite Life Interiors piece that you chose for the space and why?
I love the Bentley Armchairs, they are so, so comfy and the Amber coloured velvet was so perfect for our colour scheme.
The Berry View looks like the perfect getaway, what’s your favourite part of the hotel?
The View of course! But I also love the bathrooms so much, I used a really earthy, muted palette of terracotta and off-white and accented with black fittings and fixtures to ground the space. I also cannot wait for the infinity pool and entertainment deck to be completed, it's part of stage two of the Berry View's renovation and will include a further 16 rooms.
You’ve now been styling for us for 7 years! What has been your favourite Life Interiors collection/ styled space so far and why?
Ooooh that's a tough one, every time we do a shoot I love the new collection more than the last but if I had to choose it would be the Abode AW22 Marlo Bedroom. I think it's no surprise that I love an earthy space and everything about this bedroom is just heaven to me, the boucle, the rust tones, the simplicity, it's definitely one of my favourite rooms I've created for Life Interiors.
One half of the dynamic Citizens of Style duo, Tahnee has helped us bring our new and capsule collections to life these past 7 years and we love her for it.
The Berry View Hotel is another stunning example of her creative flair and we love the Life pieces she chose to make it feel like a home away from home, including our Bentley Armchair!
Here at Life, we can't wait to stay there and experience it for ourselves!
